Christmas Festivities

The annual Moorefield Christmas parade has set for Saturday, December 6, 2025. Line up for the parade will begin at Moorefield High School at 4:00 PM, with the parade beginning at 4:00 P.M. The parade will proceed south on Main Street until it reaches the downtown stoplight and then turning west onto Winchester. The parade will end on Town Run Road. After the parade, there will be festivities at the corner of Winchester and Main in the parking lot including the annual tree lighting ceremony hosted by the Moorefield Lions Club. If you are interested in participating in the Christmas parade, please contact the Town Office at 304-530-6142, send us a message on facebook, or send us an email at townofmfld@hardynet.com. Participants can also contact Bill Fitzwater for more info. We encourage local churches, organizations, and businesses to participate in this event.

Holidays On Ice has returned to the Town Park. The skating rink, which opened on November 15th, will be open every weekend weather permitting. The schedule is as follows: Friday’s – 6PM – 10PM, Saturdays – 2PM – 10PM, and Sundays – 2PM – 6PM. Admission is free, skate rental is free, and concessions will be available for purchase. Please monitor the Moorefield Town Park facebook page for updates.

Town of Moorefield Fall Cleanup & Last Free Brush Days

The Town of Moorefield is pleased to announce the annual Fall Cleanup, scheduled for October 20–23, 2025. This is a great opportunity for residents and business owners to beautify their properties and prepare for the winter season.

Residents are encouraged to focus on lawn care, weed control, property cleanup, culvert maintenance, and seasonal enhancements. Please place items at the curb the night before your designated pickup day according to the Zone Collection Schedule [see Zone chart below].

🚫 Please note:

  • No household trash, hazardous materials, batteries, paint, oil, liquids, or items containing Freon
  • All brush and boards must be bundled (4 feet maximum length)
  • Excessive quantities will not be picked up

In addition, the Last Free Brush Days of 2025 will take place on:

  • Tuesday, October 7th (8AM – 12PM)
  • Saturday, October 25th (8AM – 12PM)

Residents may bring brush, grass, and leaves free of charge to the Old Waste Water Plant on Stalnaker Drive.

🚫 No commercial dumping, no building materials, trash, or tree limbs over 8 feet will be accepted.
